Federated Dynasty - A Fantasy world based on the 1970's

I think I got the bug on an idea I brought up in jest so here goes nothing.

Alternative name: Elfy Woogie. :D

The base concept is to take traditional fantasy and putting it through a 1970's lense.

I want to hear how you would do it, and I'll post mine:

Main location: The Federated Dynasty

This is a vast kingdom that controls the majority of a continent.

1. Mostly human but Immigrates from all over the globe showed up here for generations. These are primarily Dwarves (Central Europe), Gnomes (Celtic Lands), and Hobbits (Italy analog), but also include Minotaurs (Balkans). Not sure how to do the Communists, but guessing they are just as multi-species as the Federated Dynasty.  Might throw this out or switch species, but I like species and having them from the world as "Feds" from across the globe adds a fantasy element to these characteristics.
2. A major demon invasion happened about 3o years ago, which the federated dynasty won. Unfortunately, the Federated Dynasty managed to acquire assets to help with their own innovation of magic causing a ton of governmental conspiracies, but also improved lifestyles for the average citizens.
3. The people came back and had a serious population boom.
4. This included a high level of sorcerer/sorceress being born creating a counterculture of spellcasters.

However, there was a point of transition.

1. In an "artifact race" with the soviet analog, an elite Kabal of spellcasters successfully opened its own portal to the moon.
2. This has resulted in what will be the alien analog in this world: Elves.
3. This has resulted in a counterculture with the young ones were one of the terms for this is is going fey. Combined with the free love of the era has resulted in more than its fair share of half-elves to the point where they have set up their own communes.
4. Unfortunately, Elves are just as flawed as the rest of us, so they are often the cult leader of nefarious organizations and pretend to have the secrets of enlightenment when they most likely don't.
5. It has been revealed only recently, that the leader of this world is an avatar of the trickster god. He has left the position in disgrace, but still is actively interfering in the world to cause further mischief. Surprisingly, he really likes humanity and is willing to do anything to protect them.

There has been disenchantment with normally organized religion and as a result, mainstream religion has gone into inquisition mode and is trying to regain a fragment of its once lofty power. Led by Speedy Fetaman, a shock talk telepath, he has been corrupting the old religion for his own purpose to gain control.
